Soap Dishes for Bar Soap
Very successful - I don't like hotel soaps and in vacation apartments you have to bring your own stuff anyway. The Traveler is really practical and well thought out. It's just as easy to use in a hotel or vacation apartment. What's really great is that the soap doesn't touch the inside of the container. So you can also pack moist soap.
- Clean the surface: Make sure the area where you want to attach your soap dish for bar soap is clean, dry, and grease-free.
- Attach the soap holder: Press the suction cup firmly onto the cleaned surface.
- Insert the soap button: Push the soap button firmly and evenly into the soap so it stays in place.
Tip: If your soap is crumbly, press the soap button into it under running water. If your soap is extra hard, place it on a wet sponge for 5–6 hours before inserting the button. Let it dry for 7–8 hours before use. If it’s still rock-hard, use the soap for 2–3 days before hanging it—this allows the button to bond with the soap like an implant. - Attach the soap: Simply place the soap onto the magnetic soap dish inside your sink, shower, or wherever you like.
Enjoy your SAVONT magnetic soap holder!
The magnetic soap dish is perfect anywhere you love using bar soap. Whether in the bathroom, shower, sink, or even in the kitchen—if there’s a smooth surface, you’re good to go!
But that’s not all! SAVONT’s soap dish for bar soap is also a game-changer when traveling. Paired with the Traveler Soap Dish, it keeps your soap safe in hotels, vacation rentals, or even on a cruise ship. No more soggy, misshapen soap after a trip—just fresh and ready to use!
Our Protector comes with some serious benefits:
- Keeps the magnet clean & dry: No dirt, no moisture—just a perfectly working magnetic soap dish.
- Prevents scratches: The soap button could damage the magnet’s protective coating—but with the Protector, it stays intact.
- Smoother docking: The soap button attaches more gently and quietly, without snapping too hard onto the magnet.
- Adjustable magnetic strength: Too strong for your soap? Just place a small piece of paper between the magnet and the Protector to reduce the pull—especially useful for soft soaps and shampoo bars.
- Rust-free magnet: The Protector shields the magnet completely, preventing rust over time.
- Longer lifespan for your soap dish: Without the Protector, the magnet is exposed and could wear out faster.
Our magnetic soap dish is packed with smart features:
- Soap stays dry: Air circulates all around, so your soap dries evenly—no more mushy bottoms like in a regular soap dish for bar soap.
- Say goodbye to water buildup: Even in a soap dish with drainage, the underside of the soap stays wet. Not here!
- Mess-free sink: No soap puddles outside the basin—your soap hangs neatly inside the sink.
- No drilling, no gluing: Sticks firmly with a suction cup, no tools needed.
- Move it anytime: Easily reposition it whenever you like.
- Travel-friendly: All SAVONT magnetic soap holders fit perfectly in the SAVONT Traveler Soap Dish.
- Rust-proof: All SAVONT magnetic soap dishes come with protected magnets that won’t rust. The Light Edition uses a ferrite magnet, which naturally doesn’t need protection.
The SAVONT magnetic soap dish keeps your shower tidy and mess-free:
- No bulky shower caddy needed: Saves space and no complicated installation required.
- Zero tools, zero hassle: Just stick it on—no drilling, no glue, no stress.
- Removes without a trace: No marks, no damage, just clean walls.
- More space, more freedom: No oversized racks taking up room.
- More hygiene, less waste: Your soap floats in the air, dries quickly, and lasts longer.
- Less scrubbing, more chilling: Metal and plastic racks collect soap scum and limescale. The magnetic soap dish is so small, residue hardly sticks to it.
- Flexible placement: Sticks securely to smooth surfaces and can be moved anytime.
With a soap dish for bar soap, your shower stays clean, organized, and hassle-free!
Did you know you can reactivate the suction cups on your magnetic soap dish?
SAVONT suction cups are built for long-term use. If the suction starts to weaken or the cup gets slightly deformed, a simple trick will restore its shape—without losing any quality!
How to restore your SAVONT suction cup:
- Preparation:
- For VARIO: Remove the magnet and soap button.
- For Protector and Light Edition: Keep the magnet inside and only dip the suction cup plate in hot water.
- Heat treatment: Place the suction cup (or just the plate) in hot water (about tea temperature) for 1–2 minutes.
- Dry & cool down: Take it out and let it dry completely.
- Reassemble: (For VARIO only) Reinsert the magnet and soap button.
- Final fix: Gently pull the sealing lip back over the surface—and you’re good to go!
Why does this work?
Our suction cups are made from a special thermoplastic material that reacts to heat. It temporarily softens and returns to its original shape as it cools—without losing suction power.
How often can I do this?
Thanks to our high-quality materials, you can repeat this trick multiple times without losing performance. But don’t worry—you probably won’t need to! SAVONT suction cups are designed to last.
We designed the Traveler Soap Dish to keep your magnetic soap dish secure—even when you're on the go.
Here’s how it works:
- After using your soap, let it drip off briefly.
- Attach the magnetic soap holder inside the soap dish.
- Place your soap onto the holder inside the case—it's ventilated from all sides and never touches the walls.
This way, you can take your soap anywhere—clean, dry, and without wasting a single bit!
What surfaces work best?
For a super strong grip, your magnetic soap dish needs a smooth, non-porous surface. The best options are:
- Mirrors – Perfect adhesion on glass surfaces.
- Shower walls (glass or plexiglass) – Smooth, transparent, and ideal for shower use.
- Glossy, glazed tiles – Flat bathroom tiles without texture provide the best base.
- Enameled sinks & bathtubs – Smooth, coated surfaces ensure reliable hold.
Rough, porous, or uneven surfaces like textured tiles, concrete, wood, or natural stone are not ideal. Not sure? Test with a regular suction cup first to check if your soap dish for bar soap will hold.
How to attach your suction cup correctly
Follow these steps for the best grip:
- Clean the surface: Soap residue, grease, or limescale can weaken the hold. A bit of vinegar cleaner helps remove buildup.
- Lightly moisten the suction cup: A tiny bit of water boosts suction and ensures a firm grip.
- Press it on firmly: Push it onto the surface while squeezing out as much air as possible.
- Prepare your soap: Insert the soap button in the center of your soap and let it dry for at least 8 hours before first use.
What if the suction cup doesn’t hold?
If your magnetic soap holder isn’t sticking properly, check for these issues:
- Limescale buildup on the surface: Clean with vinegar or citric acid.
- Air trapped under the suction cup: Press it down firmly and smooth out any bubbles.
- Incompatible surface: If the surface isn’t smooth enough, try another spot.
Follow these tips, and your magnetic soap dish will stay perfectly in place—keeping your soap dry, clean, and ready to use! 🚿✨
Not all soaps are the same—so we’ve got different magnetic soap holders for different soap sizes. Here’s a quick guide:

- Protector SMART – Up to 100g (great for shampoo bars).
- Protector Edition – Up to 180g (ideal for shower and hand soaps).

Whatever soap you use, there’s a magnetic soap dish that can handle it!
The Original Floating Soap Dish – Invented by SAVONT
“The idea for the floating soap dish for bar soap came from my own frustration in finding a clean way to store my solid soap. I had a traditional soap dish with drainage, but the problem was always the same—soap stayed wet underneath and wore down too fast.”
“Switching to liquid soap wasn’t a solution either. The dispenser had to sit on the sink, and every time I reached for it, I left water all over the counter.”
“One day, I had an idea—what if I could hold my solid soap magnetically inside the sink? That’s how the first Classic Edition was born in 2017—a simple, functional solution.”
Phuc-An Tran, Inventor of the Floating Soap Dish & Founder of SAVONT
Let’s be real—between a wobbly plastic bottle and a perfectly placed soap dish for bar soap, the choice is obvious. Here’s why:
- Saves space: A magnetic soap dish doesn’t take up shelf space, while shower gel bottles clutter your shower and love to tip over.
- Eco-friendly: Bar soap = zero plastic waste. Shower gel? Just another plastic bottle heading for the trash.
- More hygienic: A magnetic soap holder keeps your soap dry and away from stagnant water, preventing bacteria and mold. Meanwhile, shower gels contain preservatives to stop bacteria from forming.
- Super easy to use: Grab, lather, hang it back—no annoying bottle caps or over-pouring.
- Perfect dosing, every time: A nearly empty shower gel bottle? Shake it like crazy. Store it upside down? Half the bottle pours out at once. With bar soap, you take exactly what you need—nothing more, nothing less.
Bottom line? A soap dish for bar soap with a magnet is simply cleaner, smarter, and way more practical.
- Compact & space-saving: Your soap finally has a dedicated spot.
- Easy setup: No drilling, no glue—move it anytime.
- Perfect for travel: Take it with you wherever you go.
- No more mushy soap: Your soap stays dry, and mold doesn’t stand a chance.
- Built to last: Rust-proof and requires almost no maintenance.
- A sustainable choice: Less plastic waste, less packaging, more eco-friendly.
With a soap dish for bar soap, your bathroom stays clean, organized, and effortlessly stylish.
Nope! The magnet in our magnetic soap dish won’t rust—as long as you use a Protector.
The magnet has a protective anti-rust coating to keep moisture out. But if that layer gets damaged, water can seep in, and rust can start to form. The Protector prevents this by adding an extra shield, ensuring the magnet stays in top shape for the long run.
And what about the soap button? No worries there! Even if scratched, our stainless steel doesn’t need a protective layer—it’s naturally rust-resistant. So, you’re good to go!
Our soap dish for bar soap is compatible with all types of solid soap. Here’s a quick guide with some tips for best results:
- Cold-processed soaps: The soap button attaches easily—no extra steps needed.
- Hot-processed soaps: These are usually harder. If your soap is extra firm, check our tips for inserting the soap button properly.
- Aleppo & olive oil soaps: Their hardness depends on how long they’ve cured, but they tend to be quite firm. Again, our installation tips can help.
- Shampoo bars: Often more brittle. To avoid too much pulling force, we recommend using the Protector SMART or adjusting the magnet strength.
- Small soaps: For guest soaps and hotel-sized bars, we created the Light Edition. It offers a gentler magnetic hold and uses a smaller soap button that covers less surface.
SAVONT Magnetic Soap Dish vs. Soap Dish with Drainage – Which One Wins?
A soap dish with drainage is designed to let excess water run off, but the bottom of your soap still stays constantly wet. That means it gets mushy and wears down faster. In the shower, water often pools inside the dish, and by the sink, placing the soap outside the basin leads to water dripping everywhere.
The SAVONT soap dish for bar soap works differently—it keeps your soap floating inside the sink or shower, completely free from standing water. It’s ventilated from all sides, dries faster, and lasts longer. Plus, the magnetic soap dish takes up zero extra space and keeps things looking neat.
Hygiene advantage: A regular soap dish needs constant cleaning because soap sits directly on it, leaving behind residue. With the SAVONT soap dish, only the soap button touches the soap—so the holder stays nearly spotless and requires minimal upkeep.
The verdict: A soap dish with drainage lets water drain, but it can’t stop your soap from staying wet. The SAVONT soap dish for bar soap, on the other hand, keeps it dry, clean, and long-lasting—for a more hygienic and hassle-free experience in your bathroom.

Soap & soap holder always with you
Traveler is the first soap box that always has a magnetic soap holder with it.
The soap is magnetically attached to the soap holder so that it does not touch the wall. In normal soap tins, the moist soap rubs off, leaving behind dirt and waste.
Traveler, is simple and practical: remove the soap and soap holder and attach it to the shower or washbasin at home or in the hotel. On departure, place the moist soap on the soap holder in the soap box, where it will dry completely.

Criteria for choosing a soap holder or soap dish
The purpose of a soap holder is to extend the life of a soap by allowing it to dry quickly and from all sides. If the soap rests anywhere, there is an increased loss at this point. Another point is its flexible attachment, without having to stick it to expensive tiles or even drill holes. A soap holder should not take up any unnecessary space, as many small items are usually needed in the bathroom anyway. Finally, there is also the question of whether the soap holder ensures cleanliness: if it is outside the washbasin, water droplets will get everywhere when you reach for the soap. So consider the following points
- Can the soap dry from all sides?
- Is the soap holder flexible and reversible in the shower and washbasin?
- Does the soap dish take up extra space at the washbasin?
- Does the soap holder get dirty easily or do you get water on the bathroom furniture when you reach for the soap in the soap dish?
